Your Body is Your Valentine

Get ready for the February grind, Bradenton.

We’re entering into a harrowing time of year for our physical and mental health. Less than 1/3 of Americans stick with their New Year’s resolutions past Jan. 31. And giving up on your goals is dejecting enough.

But on top of that, we’ve also got Valentine’s Day to contend with. No matter your love life status, it’s a stressful holiday. Either you’re putting pressure on your relationship, or you’re watching everyone else make romantic plans when you’re just hoping to have a decent Tuesday night.
Well, we’ve got a few ideas for all the Sarasota-Manatee Valentines out there. And they all start with loving your own body first.

Work(out) Through It

The science is in: You don’t technically have to love yourself before you can love anybody else, but it sure makes it easier. So if you’re struggling with the prospect of feeling romantic this month, then it’s time to hit the gym.

In fact, can we recommend all you love birds come in see your favorite Bradenton personal trainers ASAP? Trust us when we say that that post-workout glow saves a lot of relationships this time of year.

Hormones Are Where the Heart Is

And what makes that post-workout glow? Hormones, of course. Endocannabinoids (mood-boosters) and endorphins (painkillers) are feel-good hormones triggered by your workout. Even exercise-induced adrenaline is great for getting you pumped about your own body’s abilities.

And the after-effects of exercise also mean lowering your stress-related hormones (adrenaline when you don’t need it, as well as cortisol), keeping you in the Valentine’s mood that much longer.

Bradenton Galentine’s Group Classes

If you don’t know Galentines’, ladies, here it is: The day before all this Valentines chaos kicks off, we celebrate Galentine’s in honor of female friendship. As Galentine’s founder Leslie Knope says, “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year.”

There are a lot of ways fitness falls into the Galentine’s holiday, and goodness knows we’ve got a wealth of Bradenton workout options to celebrate. But can you imagine anything more powerful than a group of women friends honoring their bodies with group weightlifting and interval training? A half-hour women’s-only HITT class or an all-gals Boot Camp? Hooah!

This might actually be key to female empowerment.

So whether you’ve got your fitness-minded Galentine’s group already or you’re looking to join a gal pal workout crew, look no further than a small group class at Lana’s!

What Do We Love Most? We Love Your Smile

So what will your Valentine’s Day gift be in 2023?

Just remember to include your body in your romantic plans. It’s going to stick with you no matter what; Feb. 14 is a great excuse to show it some love for its dedication.

Whether you’re in a long-term relationship, newly paired off, still looking love or purposefully independent, what all this Valentine’s Day pressure boils down to is what we’re all looking for: happiness.

Exercise is arguably the very best way to provide instant happiness as well as long-term contentment. And let’s be real, ladies: You’re not going to get a better gift than that.
