This year more than ever, we need to reflect on ourselves and our health. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has shed light on the importance of keeping our immune system strong and making sure that we are taking proper care of our bodies. We learned that those with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity are at higher risk. As we continue to adjust to this year, it is clear that we can’t hide from this virus so there is no better time to take back control of your health. Becoming the healthiest and strongest version of ourselves gives our body the ammunition to fight not only against COVID-19 but other ailments as well. A great way to help boost your immune system is to make sure you keep your body moving, whether you are new to an exercise routine, or are thinking of starting one up.
Getting Strong = Getting Healthy
You may have heard of strength training before and immediately picture a body-builder lifting heavy weights at the gym, but this is not the case. Functional strength training is a range of full-body activities that helps you build strength, balance, and coordination through the practice of motion against resistance. This not only helps make your daily tasks easier but it helps boost your immune system by releasing immune cells into your bloodstream that help fight off pathogens. It also helps lower your cortisol levels by releasing endorphins, it helps aid in weight loss and the list of benefits goes on.
How You Can Start
Our small group classes are a great way to start no matter what your fitness level is. We offer classes for women of all ages whether you are a returning athlete or are trying a gym out for the first time. While it may not always be easy, it will always be fun and motivating. We offer a variety of classes throughout the day including mornings, evenings, and weekends to accommodate your schedule. Booking a class is easily done online and you can view our schedule here. Give us a try today and sign up for a free class!
If you feel more comfortable working one-on-one instead of a group setting at this time, we also offer personal training sessions which include nutrition counseling, assessments to keep track of your progress, and use of the gym as well.
Your Health and Safety is Our Main Priority
We strive to provide a comfortable experience for all of our clients and pride ourselves on following all CDC Guidelines to ensure the safety and health of our gym members and trainers. Each class is limited to 8 participants and everyone stays 6 feet apart throughout the class. On top of implementing rigorous sanitation measures, we also do body temperature checks at the door and everyone sanitizes their hands before entering and upon leaving the gym. No one uses the same equipment and all equipment is sanitized after each class.
